Chardonnay dominates the appellation thanks to the reputation of its great whites, known for their mineral tension, white fruit aromas and full texture. A typical white wine offers a bouquet combining pear, white peach, flowers and buttery or toasted notes depending on the ageing process. Whites generally evolve over five to twenty years depending on the climate and ageing, while reds can be kept for between five and ten years.
