Tamerán was created in 2019 by footballer and native of the Canary Islands, David Silva. Silva befriended Jonathan García (Suertes del Marqués), who helped him launch this 6-hectare estate on Gran Canaria. This cuvée opens with hints of candied orange, a fat attack and a chalky mouthfeel, with fine bitters, almost a Savennières type of wine, with a volcanic and smoky touch. Wine Advocate: 93/100

Technique

Viticulture

The Vijariego Blanco vines are grown in a single royal cordon, in south-facing vineyards, which allows the grapes to ripen fully and acquire greater intensity. The vines are grown organically, without the use of herbicides or systemic treatments. All work in the vineyard is carried out by hand.

Oenology

The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed before being fermented with indigenous yeasts in neutral oak barrels. The wine is then matured on its lees in neutral 500-litre barrels. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.
