Clos du Roi, reputed to be the finest of all Corton Crus, was formerly owned by the Dukes of Burgundy until the death of the last Duke, Charles le Téméraire, in 1477, when it became the property of the King of France, Louis XI. This Grand Cru is exposed on the south-east side of the hill, mid-slope, and benefits from top-quality clay-limestone soils. The Domaine's parcel is exceptionally well placed, in the heart of the hillside, just above the path that separates “Les Bressandes” from “Clos du Roi”. Organic since 1995, biodynamic since 2005.
