This wine comes from the Burg terroir, "Premier Cru" of the Bergheim vineyard, whose geological (variegated Keuper marl with rare limestone intercalations) and climatic characteristics (south-facing, protected location set back from the valley) allow each year for the birth of a great, powerful, complex and structured wine, which can be laid down for a very long time, from the traditional Alsatian grape varieties planted in the vineyard.
Oenology
Vinification and maturation in large tuns, on fine lees.
Suggestions for accompaniment
Seaweed and iodine (hot oysters, caviar, lobster, lobster, etc.), foie gras in terrine or pan-fried, sweet and sour dishes (duck fillet with mangoes, etc.), blue-veined cheeses.
