Aargau, Litwan rouge (pinot noir), Tom Litwan - 2021

  • Provenance: Aargau
  • Appellation: Argovie
  • Domain: Tom Litwan
  • Grape variety(ies): Pinot noir
  • On-call time: 10 years
  • Alcohol degree: 13%
In this demanding vintage, Tom Litwan produced just one Pinot, but what a wine! A beautiful floral nose, with peppery accents of great style. Notes of bramble testify to an admirably interpreted whole crop. On the palate, the wine is pleasant and fresh, with perfect maturity. NB: the winemaker has left natural carbon dioxide to preserve the wine. To drink young, decant for 1 hour.

Viticulture

Since 2006, the estate has expanded its range of wines from various vineyards around Schinznach in the canton of Aargau. Tom Litwan does not come from a wine background but discovered his passion for wine in Burgundy, then trained as a winemaker by working for 8 years at the Domaine des Balisiers in Geneva, a pioneer of biodynamic farming in Switzerland. He has been certified since 2010 and has been awarded the Démeter label since 2014.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Roast chicken with morels • Quasi veal and roast aubergines • Quail with grapes.

Domain
