VdF Cabernet franc, P'tit Clou, Dom. de Mirebeau - B. Rochard - 2022

Made from old Cabernet Franc vines on clayey gravel, this P’tit Clou is anything but small! It has a beautiful density of colour, but above all a ripe nose, with notes of liquorice, blackcurrant, menthol and very sophisticated floral touches. The balance in the mouth is marvellous, with a sensation of flesh and a density that is rare for the grape variety. A little jewel of Cabernet from a great winemake.

Age of vines: 48 years. Soil type: gravel and clay. Parent rock: schist. Yield: 40 hl/ha. Certified organic cultivation.

Oenology

De-stemming. 10 days maceration. Rapid alcoholic and malolactic fermentation (2 months) in vats, followed by 4 months ageing in vats. SO2: 1.5 g added between racking and bottling.
