Vinified as a Blanc de Blancs (pure Chardonnay), this great sparkling wine combines the qualities of its three component sites to produce an elegant, expressive wine with great minerality and length. It's best enjoyed young, if opened 15 to 30 minutes before drinking, but it will age gracefully for 5 to 10 years, becoming even more complex.

Technique

Viticulture

This wine comes from the vineyards of Wenzlau, Sanford & Benedict, La Rinconada and Bentrock: Gazas clay, Tierra sandy clay and Sorento clay. It is a blanc de blanc sparkling wine made using the Champagne method. The 2020 vintage also includes 50% reserve wines from the 2018 and 2019 harvests from various Santa Rita Hills terroirs.

Oenology

The grapes were hand-picked using crates and then gently pressed. The wines were aged on their lees in bottle for 30 months. No fining or filtration. Dosage: 4.0g/L (Extra Brut). Bottled in April following the harvest. Disgorged in February N+3.
