Viticulture
The vines are about 60 years old and are situated on slopes on various Devonian schist soils, with mixtures of rhyolite, porphyry and quartz of volcanic origin. The Volz was an isolated vineyard until 1971 and is now part of the Wiltinger Braunfels vineyard. In the Prussian wine map of 1968, this terroir bordering on Scharzhofberg was nevertheless privileged to be classified as a Grand Cru.
