Mas de Daumas Gassac rouge 2021 had one of the lowest natural yields, averaging 27hl/ha, without any green harvesting. It is also a wine of almost perfect analytical balance. The acidity is present, but totally melted, subtly illuminating the suave power of the wine. The conductor of the orchestra is the red fruit, which is both dense and noble, giving the impression of great potential for longevity!

Viticulture

The Mas de Daumas Gassac is located in the middle of the Arboussas massif, on a deep, perfectly drained soil, poor in humus and plant matter, rich in mineral oxides. This terroir was formed by the accumulation of glacial sandstone by the wind during the Riss, Mindel and Guntz glaciations.

Oenology

Classic Médoc vinification - long maceration - no filtration. Aged between 12 and 15 months in oak barrels (1 to 7 years old).

Suggestions for accompaniment

Rack of lamb, cream of split peas with cumin - Duck breast with honey and sherry vinegar - Venison hazelnuts.
