Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Fairendes 1er cru, Henri Germain - 2022

This discreet estate has a great reputation for its Meursault and Chassagne, made from the best part of the Morgeot. Orchard fruits, floral notes, candied lemon: the nose of this Morgeot is extraordinarily elegant and announces a superbly articulated, dense and fleshy body, with a very pure finish, with a rare level of complexity. A great success!

Viticulture

Deep soils, clay and limestone. Half of the plot is 10 years old and the other half is 40 years old. This terroir is one of the most renowned in the commune. The precise climate bottled here is called Fairendes, or Farendes, in the vast Morgeot.

Oenology

The vinification is done entirely in oak barrels with relatively little new wood (maximum 20 to 25%). As the cellar is very cold, the fermentations are very long and so is the ageing: at least 18 months. No stirring of the lees (except in 1996 and 2007).

Suggestions for accompaniment

Scallops with citrus butter - Grilled sea fish - Poached poultry - Cheese.
