The name "Poruzots" is derived from the word "Porroux" which means "stony place" in local dialect. This shows the typicality of this Premier Cru on which Jean-François Germain elaborates a Meursault of anthology, masterly of tension and minerality. Like a small Perrières, made for ageing, like all the wines of the domain.

Technique

Viticulture

Plot of 0.25 ha. It is the Meursault 1er cru of the domain that is harvested first because it has the most sunny exposure.

Oenology

The vinification is done entirely in oak barrels with relatively little new wood (maximum 20 to 25%). As the cellar is very cold, the fermentations are very long and so is the ageing: at least 18 months. No stirring of the lees (except in 1996 and 2007).
