Chartreuse Liqueur du 9ème centenaire, 47° (70 cl)

The Liqueur du 9e Centenaire was created in 1984 to commemorate the 9th centenary of the foundation of the Grande Chartreuse in 1084. A top-of-the-range liqueur, it is a subtle blend and a perfect balance that gives it great finesse in the mouth. It is presented in an anniversary bottle, identical to the one used in the last century, with an identification number.

130 plants are essential for making Chartreuse liqueurs: they are listed in the manuscript that the Maréchal d'Estrées gave to the Carthusian Fathers in 1605.

Oenology

Only three brothers, designated by their Order, know the name and have learned how to blend and distil them. They alone hold the secret of how to obtain the world-famous green and yellow colours naturally by maceration of certain plants. The brothers also take care of the slow ageing in oak casks and half casks.
