V. delle Dolomiti, Granato, Foradori - 2021

Elisabetta Foradori's Granato is the estate's greatest red wine. It has incredible depth and intensity of black cherry, spice and violet, with a touch of mint. The texture is silky, the tannins fine and juicy, and the finish is fan-like, long and precise. This is a great wine that defies time. Luca Gardini : 98/100 ; Vinous : 95/100 ; James Suckling : 97/100

Viticulture

The vine and the pomegranate have a common origin and often go hand in hand in Mediterranean culture. The pomegranate also has the charm, beauty and intensity of the fruit of the vine. It is this union that inspired the name "Granato", like a Teroldego made of concentration and density, rooted in the pebbles and sands of the five vineyards of Campo Rotaliano (Morei, Vignai, Sgarzon, Cesura, Regin). The soil is worked in its entirety and the vineyards are cultivated biodynamically.

Oenology

Fermented in large open vats and aged for 24 months in oak barrels.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Bresaola on a bed of rocket - Risotto with mushrooms - Castelmagno or Bitto.

Domain
Elisabetta Foradori is a Grande Dame of Italian wine. Some people even compare her to Lalou Bize Leroy, the pasionary of Burgundy, or to Marie-Thérèse Chappaz. One vision unites them: the love of the vine, of the earth and of living beings, which they respect by practising a sensitive, honest and profound biodynamic approach. As soon as she arrived, she set up several important projects: massal selections of teroldego in 1985, creation of the Granato cuvée in 1986, plot selections in 1987 (Morei, Sgarzon), conversion to biodynamic viticulture in 2002, Demeter certification in 2009, launch of the Nosiola Fontanasanta and Manzoni white cuvées, vinification in amphorae, etc. Here, all the rhythms and balances of nature and the ferment are respected and each wine is accompanied with care.
