Irouléguy, GB, Goienetxea - 2021

A great wine from the Basque Country, full of tension and verticality. This GB 2021 impresses with its aromatic intensity: fresh black fruits, violet, graphite and an elegant smoky side reminiscent of heated rock. On the palate, it is chiselled, straightforward, almost severe on opening, but what depth! The tannins are firm but precise, with a mouth-watering, long finish carried by perfectly integrated acidity. A high-altitude red that prefers dishes with character to sophistication and will gain nobility with a few years of ageing.
