Viticulture

PINOT RhEIN is an association of 4 wineries from 4 wine communities in Graubünden, consisting of Hansruedi Adank, Hanspeter Lampert, Ueli and Jürg Liesch and Marco Casanova. The Bündner Herrschaftr and the Churer Rheintal are located in an open north-south valley. The vines are protected from the west wind and the breeze and benefit from the Föhn, but also from cool nights. They grow mainly on gravel, sand and sandstone limestone cones. The deep geological formations are covered with a thin layer of humus.

Oenology

The winemaker friends behind this project set strict rules for themselves: the yield is only 3.5 dl per square metre, like the best Burgundy wines; the blend is aged for 12 months in one- or two-year-old rooms; the final wine contains a moderate dose of sulphur.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Quasi of veal - Beef tartar - Roasted guinea fowl with lime - Risotto with the flavours of the undergrowth.
