From 1917 to 2017, a century of history has left its mark on Carmes Haut-Brion. In 1917, Marie-Jeanne Chantecaille, nicknamed "Bijou", was born and later became an emblematic figure of the estate. This century has seen an unshakeable passion for wine, where the Cabernet Franc grape variety, rooted in this unique vineyard, has been handed down from generation to generation of winegrowers.
Oenology
Memories of this century spent at Les Carmes have inspired the creation of an exceptional box that combines the professions of wine and perfume. First of all, a cuvée that is unique in every way: a 100% Cabernet franc harvested in 2017 and vinified in a "perfume" - a 6hL concrete vat - then matured for two years in barrels and two years in sandstone amphorae. Since 2021, the wine has been resting in Ensuite, l'Eau des Carmes, the fruit of a collaboration with Barnabé Fillion, nose and perfume designer. Iris, peony, violet... This perfume of skin transports its owner, it is the olfactory story of this century and of these old Cabernet Francs.
