The Parcelle du Rocher draws its character from the clay-limestone soil of the southern slopes of Saint Emilion. The grapes enjoy optimal exposure combined with the freshness of a limestone terroir. The organic approach has been in place for ten years now on these soils and the vines benefit fully from this enrichment. Surface area: 4 ha. Terroir: clay-limestone.
Oenology
Aged 12 months in barrels
Suggestions for accompaniment
Braised beef with cornucopia, calf's head with vinaigrette, lacquered ribs.
Liquid geography
As you may know, there are many Thienponts in Bordeaux, but they all come from the same family, which started in the wine trade in 1842 with the grandfather Camille. Today, his descendants are called Nicolas (Pavie-Macquin, Puyguéraud, La Prade), Alexandre (Vieux Château Certain), Jacques (Le Pin) and François Thienpont. The latter is at the head of Wings, which is a reference in the Bordeaux wine trade. The wines he signs under his name express their terroir and their vintage with the greatest sincerity.
