This cuvée is a tribute to the wine that won first prize at the London World's Fair in 1862. The 1854 vintage was acclaimed. The parcel, adjacent to the Château du Moulin-à-Vent, has been part of the estate since its origin. Surrounded by walls, partly backed by buildings and a park, it is sheltered from the prevailing winds and protected in the hottest periods by an adjoining park, which provides coolness.
Oenology
Maceration for fifteen to twenty days. The wine is matured for 15 to 18 months, depending on the vintage, in new and single-vineyard barrels (500 litres). Beyond that, the wine is kept in bottles for several years before being put on sale.
