From a plot of very old vines on the finest terroirs of Verzé, this superb Mâcon-Villages delivers a racy nose that is far removed from the varietal of the grape variety. The palate is rich and juicy, with a minty flavour and a sensation of perfect ripeness of the grape, which never tips over into heaviness thanks to noble bitters. A very fine wine! Technique

Viticulture

Slight well-draining slope. Dark brown soils from white chalky limestone (Jurassic). Thin to moderately deep, clayey and very chalky soils.

Oenology

Vinification and maturation 10% in barrels and 90% in stainless steel tanks, over a total period of 22 months. Low filtration at bottling.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Shrimps with Curry Corsaire and rice - Fresh or semi-dried goats from Mâconnais.
