Viticulture
Loureiro comes from the Lima sub-region, the birthplace of the Loureiro grape variety. This region has deep, granite soils that are poor in organic matter. The vines, located halfway up the slope, facing south along the Lima River, benefit from the coolness of the Atlantic Ocean. This influence gives the wine its freshness and aromatic exuberance. This terroir produces a wine of great freshness, with crystalline acidity and marked salinity.
Oenology
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates and transported quickly to the refrigerated winery. The destemmed grapes are pressed. Cold clarification takes place over 48 to 72 hours. Long fermentation at low temperature (14-18°C). Minimum ageing of 4 months on fine lees with regular stirring.
