Deep black fruits, liquorice, bramble, blackberry cream, lots of brilliance and breed. Rich and pulpy attack, high maturity of the grapes, generous tannins, less advanced at this stage than Canon La Gaffelière, but which has the arguments to age serenely. Guide Vert RVF : 97/100

Technique

Viticulture

The château, bought in 1971, is located on a terroir of very silty clay on bedrock (Troplong-Mondot scree), with a southern exposure and a steep slope. The INAO having refused to integrate this 4.5 ha parcel into the Canon-la-Gaffelière vineyard, Stephan von Neipperg decided to vinify it separately, with the help of Stéphane Derenoncourt. After the first vintage in 1996, the wine quickly acquired an international reputation.
