Back Mâconnais region. Production area located south-west of Mâcon, extending to the border with the Rhône department, more precisely within the municipalities of Chânes, Chasselas, Davayé, Leynes, Prissé, Saint-Amour-Bellevue, Saint-Vérand and Solutré-Pouilly in the Saône-et-Loire department. Classified as a communal AOC in 1971. Area under production: nearly 560 hectares. The total area covered is 590 hectares. White grape variety: Chardonnay. Vinified as white wine only. It can be kept for 5 to 7 years, or even longer, depending on the vintage. Ideal serving temperature: between 11 and 13°C. Enjoy with: oysters, frogs' legs, monkfish soup, snails, Creole-style monkfish skewers or lemongrass filet mignon skewers.
