Cidre de pommes demi-sec, Neunkrich, Oswald+Ruch - 2021

A semi-dry cider made from the fruit of trees in and around Neunkirch that are no longer in use. These are remnants of the orchard belts that surrounded the villages. They guaranteed the inhabitants a supply of vitamins during the winter, as well as a brood and resting place for the useful insects on which agriculture depended at that time. The typical Swiss cider apple varieties with their balance of flavour, acidity and tannins make a lovely, gourmet cider, different from its bitter cousins from Brittany.
