Chignin Bergeron Grand Orgue, Louis Magnin - 2016

This is another great dry white wine from Savoie. The sensation of terroir is not an empty word here and, behind the procession of white flowers and ripe fruit, the wine unfolds a spectacular body, full, fat and taut at the same time. It is already a pleasure to drink now, but there is no hurry: it has a great future ahead of it! Guide Vert RVF : 93/100

Viticulture

The slope of Arbin-Montmelian is backed by the Bauges massif. The vines have a predominantly south-easterly exposure and the soil is composed of clay-limestone scree. This wine is a selection of the best terroirs of the hillside.

Oenology

This cuvée is made in the great vintages that allow the harvest not to be chaptalised. The wine is matured in vats on fine lees.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Chicken supreme, lemongrass-ginger sauce, passion fruit - Cod royale with lentils and North African spices - Savoy cheese.

The three of them have therefore set important quality standards for Savoy wines and are in a way the "parents" of the new generation, which owes them so much and in return carries them very high in its heart.Since the beginning, or almost since the beginning, Louis Magnin, known as "Lili", has been assisted in his work in the vineyard and in marketing by his wife, Béatrice, a little woman with a strong character, endowed with an extraordinary work force and energy, to whom we must pay tribute, because without her, Louis would never have made the career he did. The estate, a family business par excellence, covers 8 hectares mainly located in Arbin, in the Combe de Savoie valley, near the town of Montmélian. The Magnins have been certified organic since 2012, but have been using biodynamic viticulture since 2010. Adjacent to the Bauges massif, on the slopes of Arbin-Montmélian, they claim mondeuse in the Arbin cru, but also produce bergeron, thus roussanne, on the Chignin cru; Roussette de Savoie (or altesse) and jacquère. A wide variety of soils and a south/south-east exposure contribute to the ripening of the grapes, which then express the strength of their great...
