The nose seduces with its freshness, notes of liquorice and blueberry fruit, followed by a structured palate, carried by firm, noble tannins. Here we touch on the very essence of Sangiovese.

Viticulture

Small family vineyard of 9 ha located 80 km south of Siena. The soil is sandy-clay and medium sub-alkaline limestone.

Oenology

Vinification in stainless steel vats of 40 and 60 hl, temperature controlled. Aged for 10 to 12 months in 20 hl Slovenian tuns, Allier oak demi-muids and 3rd passage barrels. Refinement in bottles for 3 to 6 months before being sold.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Oven-roasted capretto, rosemary potatoes • Braised veal shank.
