In the very place where the popes once elevated Châteauneuf to the status of sacred ground, the Sabon family has been writing a story of passion and great wines for decades.
Founded in 1967 by Aimé Sabon and named after the family farm “La Janasse,” the estate has expanded over the generations to cover nearly 90 hectares, divided into more than 60 plots. Today, Christophe and Isabelle carry on their father’s legacy, revealing the full diversity of this terroir where the family was born and where the finest grapes take root. Some century-old vines, carefully cultivated using organic methods and with low yields, contribute to this unique richness.
In the cellar, the same high standards guide every step: spontaneous fermentation in raw concrete tanks, aging of Grenache in large, old oak casks, and bottling timed to the lunar cycle and without filtration. Christophe’s goal is clear: to offer wines that are as complex as they are elegant, faithful reflections of their terroirs. From the Côtes du Rhône to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the wines combine intensity, finesse, and depth, and are now recognized as among the finest in the southern Rhône.
