Made from a rare and almost extinct grape variety, this Terrantez 20 Year Old is a magnificent wine, with great aromatic power, notes of exotic fruits (lychee), "refreshed" by nuances of chlorophyll, mint and citrus peel, of great complexity and formal beauty. The palate offers a liqueur-like sensation and an unforgettable flavour of heather honey. It is very refined in texture, powerful in drive and long lasting.

Viticulture

Once owned by the Portuguese royal house, the former Henriques & Henriques company is now owned by British John Cossart. For 53 years his father was the director and cellar master of the company and in 1978, after the death of the last Henriques who had no successor, he became the majority owner. With 15 hectares, Henriques & Henriques is the largest wine producer on Madeira Island.

Oenology

The oldest wine in the world, Madeira is usually sold without a vintage. The best qualities are aged for 10 years or more in oak barrels before being put on the market.
