There is no doubt that Alain Rotier is one of the great winegrowers of the South-West, and he is one of the top three in the Gaillac appellation. He is very gifted in red wines, but also excels in sweet and syrupy wines, which have greatly contributed to the reputation of the estate. His cuvée Les Gravels skilfully blends passerillage and botrytis in order to combine aromatic luxuriance (exotic fruit, citrus fruits) and gustatory freshness. The price/pleasure ratio is sensational!

Technique

Viticulture

The vineyard is located on a plateau corresponding to the middle terrace of the Tarn. The terroir is made up of very fine gravelly soils. Certified organic farming.

Oenology

The musts were fermented at 18° C in vats. Fermentation was stopped by cold and filtration to avoid the use of too much sulphur. The wine obtained retains about 80 g/l of residual sugar and offers a very good balance. Aged in vats, with regular racking.
