Definition: Valpolicella

Back
About ten years ago, Parker's famous Wine Advocate said: "Valpolicellas have become industrial and insipid rejects". The situation has changed considerably since then. Made from at least 80% Corvina grapes, Valpolicella is usually a light, pale red wine with a slight cherry aroma and a slightly bitter finish. It has several derivatives, including Recioto, Amarone and Ripasso.
