Pyrenees region. Production area located in the south-west of the Gers department, south-east of Mont-de-Marsan, more precisely within 48 municipalities in the Gers department and part of the municipality of Aire-sur-l'Adour in the Landes department. Classified as AOVDQS in 1981. Area under production: just over 785 hectares. White grape varieties: Arrufiac (minimum 20%), Petit Courbu (minimum 20%), Petit Manseng (maximum 20%) and Gros Manseng. Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng together must not represent more than 60% of the vineyard; reds: Tannat (minimum 60%), Fer Servadou (minimum 20%), Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinified as: white, rosé and red. The latter must be a blend of at least Tannat and Fer Servadou. The white must be a blend of at least three grape varieties. It can be kept: whites and rosés are best drunk young; reds can be kept for 2 to 6 years. Ideal serving temperature: between 8 and 10°C for whites and rosés; between 15 and 16°C for reds. Pairings: white wines with shellfish, crustaceans or fish; rosés with cold meats or grilled meats accompanied by raw vegetables; reds with red meat or game.
