Definition: Saint-Julien AOC

Back

The wines from this commune in the Médoc are characterised by their elegance and very pure flavour. They have the delicacy of Margaux wines, but their full-bodied nature brings them closer to Pauillac wines. They have a deep colour, but are not as opaque as Pauillac wines. Well-balanced and elegant, they can be aged for 6 to 20 years for classified growths, and 5 to 12 years for others.
