Libournais region. Production area located about 40 kilometres east of Bordeaux, northeast of Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of the Dordogne, more precisely within the boundaries of the commune of Montagne (locality of Saint-Georges), in the Gironde department. Classified as an AOC in 1936. Area under production: just over 170 hectares. Produced exclusively as red wine. Black grape varieties: Cabernet Franc (or Bouchet), Cabernet Sauvignon, Côt (or Pressac or Malbec) and Merlot. Ageing potential: some wines can be very interesting in their early years; others need to age to reach their maximum quality. Ideal serving temperature: between 15 and 16°C. Pair with: roast poultry, red meat or rabbit.
