Back The renowned Médoc region in Bordeaux. Production area located about 40 kilometres north of Bordeaux, on the left bank of the Gironde, more precisely within the municipalities of Cissac-Médoc, Pauillac, Saint-Estèphe, Saint Julien-Beychevelle and Saint-Sauveur, in the Gironde department. Classified as a communal AOC with 18 crus classified in 1936. Area under production: just under 1,200 hectares. Black grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Côt (or Malbec), Merlot and Petit Verdot. Vinified exclusively as red wine. It can be kept for 10 to 20 years or more, depending on the vintage or cru. Ideal serving temperature: between 17 and 18°C. Be sure to aerate it by decanting before serving. Enjoy with game, leg of mutton or lamb.
