Definition: Montepulciano

Back
Not to be confused with the wine of the same name. The most important red grape variety in Italy after Sangiovese. It produces a full-bodied, robust, velvety wine with low acidity and a ruby red colour. Can be drunk young as it is low in tannins. Also produces easy-drinking, fruity rosés.
