Definition: Monier de La Sizeranne (Hermitage)

Back

The name of this great vintage from Maison Chapoutier is not insignificant and pays tribute to Maurice Monier de la Sizeranne, owner of the Hermitage la Sizeranne plot and creator of the relief reading system for the blind, the first version of abbreviated Braille. A street in Paris bears his name, and here is his coat of arms.

It is easy to understand why Chapoutier decided to put Braille on its labels. It is a tribute to this man, but also a gesture of openness and tolerance towards all visually impaired wine lovers.
