Definition: Gamays teinturiers

Red grape varieties, probably derived from a cross between Gamay and Teinturier, which are often used to complement Gamay to give it colour, but at the expense of finesse. Other Teinturier grape varieties include Baco Noir, Canaiolo, Clinton, Grenache Teinturier and Malbec.
