Definition: Foxé

Back
A term used in oenology to describe a very distinctive unpleasant animal aroma found in certain wines made from American grape varieties or their hybrids. It resembles the smell of a fox. Such a wine is said to have a "foxiness", a smell reminiscent of sweat, perspiration, damp fox fur, mixed with urine.
