Definition: Côtes du Jura

Back

The Côtes du Jura appellation is, after Arbois, the largest in the entire French Jura region. Comprising 105 municipalities, its total area covers 640 hectares.

It includes all the products made in the Jura region that do not meet the requirements to be sold as vin jaune or other more specific appellations.

It is also a wonderful area for experiments such as those aimed at preserving wine from oxidation during maturation. This appellation is rich in contrasts, producing wines that are just as diverse: simple wines, particularly complex wines, either fruity or with notes of nuts and sherry, vinified from Savagnin or Chardonnay grapes.
