Definition: Corvina Veronese

Back
It is the main grape variety used in Valpolicella (40-70%) and Bardolino (35-65%) wines. It is also used to make classic Recioto (40-70%) and Amarone wines. The grape variety is mainly grown in the province of Verona. When vinified as a single variety, it is an intense dark red with a lively, harsh acidity. It lacks a little harmony, but has finesse.
