Definition: Corbières AOC

Back
Languedoc wine. Since 1985, it has had its own AOC and, as a result, has lost half of its surface area. The red wine has a beautiful colour and a full, fruity and spicy nose, and is velvety, clean and tender on the palate. It is made from 40 to 60% Carignan, 25 to 35% Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, and a maximum of 20% Cinsault. It may also contain Macabéo (white) and Bourboulenc (white). As a white wine, Corbières is dry and tender, sometimes lacking a little personality. Its blend consists of a minimum of 50% Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc and Macabéo.
