Description: large, compact bunches, sometimes millerandaged; medium-sized black berries, ovoid, a beautiful bluish black colour, pulpy.

Production characteristics: early bud break. Very vigorous with a spreading growth habit. It is a high-yielding variety that needs to be restricted in its production, but which nevertheless produces excessively in the first few years after planting due to its vigour. Sensitive to drought, it is resistant to disease and frost. Also sensitive to magnesium deficiency when first planted. Susceptible to chlorosis and must therefore be grafted in calcareous soils. Late first period ripening.

Type of wine: produces a richly coloured, alcoholic wine with a herbaceous and fragrant taste, requiring ageing. One of the best hybrids.
