The vines for this pure Syrah come from a parcel of leased land opposite the estate on the other side of the Rhône on the left bank, with here a terrace of rolled Rhône pebbles which, heated by the sun, diffuse a gentle warmth at night, favoring grape concentration and ripeness; and a granitic parcel next to the estate.
Oenology
60% de-stemming. One-week pre-fermentation maceration, followed by 3-week maceration using the old immersed cap technique. Long, gradual fermentation without temperature control. Low-pressure pneumatic pressing to avoid bursting the pips. Aged 15 months in French oak demi-casks.
