This cuvée takes its name from “Fortis fortuna fortior”: fortune favors the bold. This was the motto of the estate's owner in the 17th century, Marshal of France under Louis XIV. This wine comes from the slopes of blond granite soils (leuco-gneiss) south of Ampuis.
Oenology
100% destemming, cold maceration for 1 week, punching down twice a day for 3 to 4 weeks, pumping over twice a day for 3 to 4 weeks, long and gradual fermentation, low-pressure pneumatic pressing to avoid bursting the seeds. Maturation for 19 months in new French oak demi-muids (580 litres).

Duck pithivier with foie gras, Eric Briffard style • Venison entrecôte • Roast partridge or pheasant.
