Cavesa le CAVE, le club des amateurs de vins exquis

Coffret 3 bouteilles - Château Marsau feat. R. Bouroullec - 2018

Is it in adversity that we reveal ourselves? Marked by the hail that devastated the vines (only 20% of the "normal" production), this 2018 reveals itself as a concentrate of the essential. It is a wine that touches by its purity, its elegance, its strength. And to pay tribute to it, Anne-Laurence and Mathieu called on Ronan Bouroullec. This collaboration has resulted in three labels: one representing the clay soil of the vines, the waves of the earth; one representing the vegetation, the vivacity of the plants; one representing the fruit, between sweetness and sensuality. Special labels for a unique wine!

Viticulture

The Marsau vines cover 13 hectares on one of the highest points of the appellation, with a clay-limestone terroir with a high clay content that is perfectly suited to Merlot. Today the soils are no longer worked and the Domaine is in organic conversion.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Pork pluma, chestnuts and cabbage - Lamb shoulder confit with Maghreb spices.

Domain
A few kilometres east of St-Emilion, not far from the village of Francs, facing the Montaigne region, the Marsau vines occupy one of the highest points of the appellation. In this setting of preserved biodiversity, on slopes facing south, the vines sink their roots into clay soils ideally suited to Merlot. But here, this grape variety behaves a little differently from other parts of the Bordeaux vineyard, as its berries remain very small, bluish, rich in bloom, a little like Cabernets. They give birth to a wine of transcendent finesse, magnified by the careful and expert hands of Anne-Laurence and Mathieu Chadronnier, his "parents".
