Chiroubles Châtenay, Daniel Bouland - 2022

The vineyard of Chiroubles is the highest in altitude of the Beaujolais crus. It overlooks the villages of Fleurie and Villié-Morgon and is known for its wines of great finesse. From these sloping granite arenas, Daniel Bouland draws this essence of Gamay with an open nose of red fruits, floral and liquorice. The mouth is crisp, greedy and round. This gives it a real charm! Viticulture

This wine comes from the high altitude terroirs of the Chiroubles cru, renowned for the finesse and crispness of the wines produced. The soils are pure granitic, very steep. The work in the vineyard is hard and the ripening is late, which makes it a privileged area in a hot vintage.

Oenology

Aged in vats for 8 months.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Spinach salad with sesame, poached egg, chilli and horseradish condiment • Offal.
