Viticulture
Château Mazeyres is one of the largest Pomerol vineyards. The diversity of its terroirs contributes to the complexity of its wines. Director: Alain Moueix. Surface area of the vineyard: 25.57 ha. Average age: 30 years. Terroir of clayey gravel and clayey sand. Property certified in organic agriculture and in biodynamic conversion since 2015 - Member of Biodyvin. Average yields: 38 hl/ha. Production. 50 000 to 70 000 bt.
Oenology
Manual harvest in crates. Careful sorting of the grapes on arrival at the vat house. Fermentation in concrete or stainless steel vats thermo-regulated according to the terroir, the age of the vines and the grape varieties. Gentle and slow extractions, adapted to the potential of each vat. Ageing 30% in new barrels, 50% in one-wine barrels and 20% in 7 hl ovoid concrete vats.
