Viticulture

This is undoubtedly the most complete terroir in Pomerol in that it represents a synthesis of the 3 types of terroir to be found in the appellation: clay, gravel and sand over iron oxide.

Oenology

The vat room and cellars were rebuilt in 2004 to better accommodate the parcel-by-parcel selection process. The grapes from each plot are first isolated in batches to assess their suitability for the grand vin once fermentation has finished. Fermentation in vats follows the classic method of pumping over and controlled maceration (with frequent tastings). Once fermentation is complete, the wine is transferred to oak barrels, where it is matured for 18 months.
