Campania IGP, Terra di Lavoro, Galardi - 2020

  • Appellation: IGT Campania
  • Domain: Galardi
  • Grape variety(ies): 80% aglianico et 20% piedirosso
  • On-call time: 20 years

This is an ode to Aglianico, expressing the character of the local terroir near the sea. Biodynamic cultivation and vinification supervised by Riccardo Cotarella have produced an extraordinary wine, as volcanic as its terroir. A surprising nose of incense, creosote and black fruits, highlighted by meticulous ageing, precedes a harmonious, slender palate!

Domain
In the heart of Campania Felix, on the volcanic land of the ancient Roccamonfina volcano, Azienda Galardi cultivates the fascinating aglianico and piedirosso grapes in organic and even biodynamic fashion. From this they produce two wonderful and surprisingly powerful wines: Terra di Rosso is a jewel of fresh fruit and convinces with its greedy tannins, while the aptly named Terra di Lavoro (the old name of the province where it is produced) is a monument and an ode to its territory.
