Whisky breton Armorik Cask #8061, 15 ans, Berry Bros & Rudd, 57.2% - 2008

This stocky whisky announces itself with notes of strawberry jam, tar and spicy honey. The palate is wonderfully thick and follows on from the nose, with leather, fruit jam and a nice puff of smoke. The finish is long and warm, with spicy oak showing through. An elegant French whisky that will convert even the most committed Scottish snob!

Berry Bros. & Rudd began in 1698 when the widow Bourne founded the specialist shop opposite St James's Palace. The current generations of Berrys and Rudds still run the family business at 3 St. James Street.

Oenology

Built in 1993 by Gilles Leizour, who comes from a long line of distillers, the Warenghem distillery is located in the picturesque Breton countryside. The distillery was the first in France to devote itself to the production of malt whisky, and since the first release of Armorik Armorik in 1998, it has won fans the world over. Port Cask Finish
