Cavesa le CAVE, le club des amateurs de vins exquis

VdF, L'épatant antidote à la chaleur du Causse, Combel La Serre - 2022

  • Provenance: Southwest
  • Appellation: Vin de France
  • Domain: Combel La Serre
  • Grape variety(ies): Malbec
  • On-call time: 3 years
  • Alcohol degree: 12.5%
It charms first of all by its intense pink colour, tending towards ruby. The nose is immediately clear and greedy (notes of acidulated red fruit with hints of violet and liquorice). It precedes a mouth that is both fleshy, suave and sapid, with a formidable greediness. Both easy and vinous, lively, it is an absolute delight!

Château Combel La Serre is located on the limestone plateau of Cahors, a great source of young talented winegrowers who are signing the revival of the AOC. It is a family property now managed by Julien and Sophie Ilbert, a couple of winemakers. The Ilberts have been on this land since the beginning of the 20th century. For a long time they took their grapes to the cooperative cellar, but things changed in 1998. It was then that the family took the plunge and decided to make their own wines. More recently, in 2013, they undertook and then succeeded in converting to organic farming and decided, since 2014, to favour parcel selections in order to create new cuvées. And it has to be said that the whole range is excellent, even the so-called thirsty wines!
